What is my Yashica Camera worth?

The value of a camera (or any tool, for that matter) depends upon how you use it. If you meant to ask "What can I get for it?", then check the completed auctions on eBay. A camera in decent condition there currently goes for around $150 and more. A good used camera in a professional camera store would probably go for less.

Where can I get my camera repaired?

Most professional camera stores have a service counter which will take you camera and send it out for repair.

One with an excellent reputation for Yashica MAT repair is Mark Hama. He can be reached at http://www.markhama.com/ . In addition to repairs, he can also "Clean, Lubricate & Adjust" (CLA).

Where can I buy a new battery?

The 1.3 volt mercury battery is no longer manufactured in the United States. Some of the remaining supply of batteries is currently available at http://www.px625.com/

Where can I buy a camera or accessories?

Obviously, there's always eBay and other on-line auction sites. Also, some professional camera stores carry used equipment. Sometimes good items show up in garage sales, flea markets, and pawn shops. Camera clubs (civic, college, and university) often have members who wish to sell old equipment.

Are the items on your page for sale?

No, but thanks for asking.

How did you acquire your camera kit?

All the items pictured were purchased in 1971 at the Base Exchange at U-Tapao, Thailand.

What's the difference between a Yashica Mat 124 and a 124-G?

The differences between the Yashica Mat models are listed on Christopher G. Mullin's web page at http://medfmt.8k.com/mf/yashica66.html .

Also, there is an excellent list of the various models and their year of manufacture at Peter Williams' New Yashica TLR FAQ at http://www.williamsphotographic.com/yashica.html .

Where can I get a brighter viewing screen?

That would be the Beattie Interscreen. See http://www.intenscreen.com/products_medium-format_yashica.htm . I hear it's somewhat pricey but the best there is.

What size is the filter mount?

The filter size is referred to as a Bay-1 mount.

Where can I find assembly charts?

Assembly charts for the Mat 124G are available at http://www-unix.oit.umass.edu/~coreya/yashica/ymchttc.html. Use at your camera's peril!
